Ruler Grippers????

Today there was a post asking about using gloves when rotary cutting. My question is: Do any of you use the Gypsy Gripper or the Omnigrid Ruler Grip when rotary cutting? If so, how do you like it? I just got the Omnigrid Ruler Gripper and I love it. I don't have to be afraid of cutting my fingers and I don't have to wear a glove. I also got the mini Gypsy Gripper for very small rulers and triangle rulers. Great for cutting all around. So wanted some thoughts on these.....

I used the Grippers before I got the Quilter's Slice Lock. They work great. I use the mini grippers for the odd shape rulers. I won't cut without some type of safety device. It's not worth the risk.

I got the large Gypsy Gripper for $5 in a box of stuff at a guild auction. It is FABULOUS. I use it on my long ruler and it makes me feel secure I won't cut my hand, and it also helps keep the ruler still. It sometimes prevents me from seeing the ruler markings though.

I am terrible about slding smaller rulers, but I don't want to pay for the smaller grippers. Honestly, I'm not sure how well they'd work- part of the stability seems to come from the space it covers.

On smaller rulers the small gripper works fine as it has a good handle. I bought all mine from supermarkets and cheap shops in different sections. Look carefully and you can repurpose things.
I use the gripper because I can't put my hand flat on a ruler after an operation.

I bought some kind of gripper strip to keep my rulers from slipping. I think the name was grip strip. They work real well and can be cut to length needed. It takes two strips for the 24" rulers. Not sure just what you are talking about.

The whole purpose is the keep your fingers away from the ruler edge. The small rulers, my hand is sometimes bigger then the ruler. With the small gripper my hand is up and away from the rotary cutter making it easy to see all around the ruler. Please use safety tools.
