Thanks for this post.
I have to go and get my first ruler this week and looks like every one is saying the 6 x 24 ruler is your go to ruler. There so expensive 29 dollars here. So I have just been using a plastice 45 degree drafting square. But I got into trouble on a quilt i,m working on now so I think it,s time . Tom |

Like you I really like my “Olfa" rulers. Don’t you just hate it when the rulers have so much writing on them you can’t see the lines?

jcrow, thanks for info on the guidelines, I guess I'll save my money for fabric. LOL

I've just discovered the Olfa frosted rulers and I absolutely love them! Makes me want to give away many other rulers that I've mistakenly bought previously. They grip and they have great lines with nothing blocking and I finally feel in charge of my cutting. I just got an Olfa cutting mat too because I don't have to move my fabric to see the lines. Olga put them on the outside edge which I love so I'm in heaven! Other favs are June Tailor Shape Cut ruler - I have the 12"x18." and the Sew Easy Cutter ruler which is 4"x27".
By the way, seeing the inquiry on Guidelines, I have the older version of the Guidelines and really liked them and think they are worth considering. I definitely want to keep them, but they can get glary on my eyes depending on my lighting and I think the Olfa frosted rulers will be my new go to rulers over them. |
I would keep 6 x 24, 6x12, 15"square, 61/2" square, 3 x 18 and finally one nobody has mentioned 1 x 6 for small measures
