While I was on vacation, I read a cute memoir centered on the author's attempt to make a very intricate knitting project. It was called 'Sweater Quest: My Year of Knitting Dangerously'. I recommend it.
The real takeaway was when the author discussed knitters and their stashes of yarn. Sounds familiar, huh? She used a term that was new to me but applies to many of us. SABLE - stash amassed beyond life expectancy Perfect, no? |
I can relate, my mother, aunt and grandmother were and are still knitters. Closets full of yarn, I haven't knitted in years, I chose the quilting bug.

It's perfect for quilters. I am sable for sure.

SABLE...Perfect!
|
My quilting stash isn't that big yet but my yarn stash sure is! (Gotta quit buying yarn and buy fabric instead)
|
Perfect, yes. My yarn stash and fabric stash are keen competitors. If I only had a year of no dinners to cook, no work to go to, no laundry to be done, no housework, no.............maybe, just maybe I could make a dent in both!

I think I preferr to be STABLE:
"Stash Total Amassed Beyond Life Expectancy" |
Haa Haaa Haaaa!
So we buy more because we 'might' use it in a quilt? Love ya. |
