It is so sad when a friend passes away. Completing her work for charity quilts is a wonderful way to honor her memory. Every quilter should be so lucky to have such a caring group of friends. If you are looking for a place for donations, try The Linus Foundation, it is a good cause.

Sad, But Sweet

A long time member of our quilt group passed away, leaving bins of quilted block samples, in matching groups of only threes and fours. We decided to make them up into lap quilts to donate to charity. Some blocks coordinated beautifully together . Others were more of a challenge. I got some of the odd ones. Here is what I came up with. The more I stitched, the more it grew on me, and after all, it was done in loving memory of Sue Merrifield.

The colors and pattern go together. I am sure the finnished quilt will bring comfort to the lucky recipient. It is wonderful you and your group are making sure these blocks are put to use. What a beautiful way to honor your friends memories.

What a lovely way to keep her quilts alive. I'm sure she is smiling down at you.

What a wonderful tribute to a loved quilter. I am sure she is happy knowing things she left behind are being used by others. Thank you for doing this in another quilters memory.
