Safety Handle
 

There was a post the other day about the safety handles you use while cutting your fabric with the rotary cutters. The post was which ones to buy and where to get them. I found some on line to be real expensive. I bought one at Hancocks for I think it was $15.88 and got my senior discount which helped out a lot. It is a OLFA and works great. They are almost exactly like handles you use in the shower to hold on to. The ones with the suction cups. I bought one at Lowes for $14.98 and it works great also. Now I have two of them so hope I am safer while cutting fabric. I just wanted to share this in case there was one of you out there that didn't want to spend $40.00 plus for one. These work great for me. You might try one and if you don't like it you can return it or use it in the shower, lol....Hope all had a wonderful Christmas, we had a White Christmas here in Arkansas, this is something we don't have very often, so it was special to us. Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, Harbor Freight, too, maybe!

I have the Gypsy Grippers. They come in different sizes. The small gripper is perfect for the small rulers. It keep my fingers out of the way when using a 4" or smaller ruler. I never cut with a rotary cutter without a safety guard or glove.

Go to the handicap section of any Walmart (or probably any drug store) and you will see a shower gripper for handicap folks -- it's the same thing. Once a few folks started showing up with these in classes, we all found out where to get them close to home. They are marvelous. Keep your hand well above the cutting surface, and help stabilize your fabric better too. If you want a small one to use on 6 to 61/2" rulers, there is one called the Little Gripper, available at online shops.

Lots of people have said these are a waste of money, but I sure do love mine. Never cut without it.

i use the handi gripper for seniors the fabric ones i bought at lqs they
dont stay as good as the senior ones. they really hold.

Sone one told me she bought a hers from a car shop. They are used for removing dents.

The SAME thing at Harbor Freight was $9.99 as the one at sewing shops for $19.99, except it wasn't pink/purple but was blue/white; otherwise, same suction cups on both ends, etc. Made for safety grip in shower, etc.
