Safety Pins that won't rust?

I am going to a spring show and I want to price and pack my items as I make them. I was thinking of writing a description and price and pining it to each item (in some sort of holder to prevent any ink getting on the items). I am concerned about safety pins rusting. Is there a better way? The show isn't until April and I will start right after I finish 3 items I need to finish for Christmas.

how about using those plastic 'strings' that the stores use to attach items together with their tags.

I did think about that but I worry about making holes. I may go by an office supply store to see if I can find one of the guns used to put the plastic strings through the material.

I have used those premade tags with holes punched in them and sewed loosely to the item with 1-2 strands of emb floss. That might work for you.

Don't get one from an office supply store! Those taggers will make large holes. Get one from a fabric store or online. It will say something like "Micro Tip Tag Gun" these are designed for fabric and will make much smaller holes. I would put the tag on the back or in a seam.

Small BRASS safety pins will not rust.

That is a great idea! Thanks.

Thanks, I will pick up a pack of brass ones. Someone on an earlier thread said they had rust marks on a quilt from safety pins and that freaked me out. I don't want my hard work and money ruined by safety pins.

I have nickel-plated pins and they don't rust.

I've never seen one of those plastic tag guns at an office supply store. I HAVE seen them at fabric stores, labeled as quilt basting guns.

I buy my, safety pins, by the gross from here:

None of the different sizes have ever rusted on me. However I also LOVE this and it can't rust as it uses plastic:

Best of all with that the holes are so small you can't see them. The holes from even the smallest pins are a little larger. Anyway best of luck with whichever way you choose to go.
