Dritz - it's all I ever use, even though I have others.
http://www.amazon.com/Dritz-D1050-45.../dp/B000YZASLM I have one of these and it is great for arthritic hands. I have others as well but this is best when "arthur" comes to visit. |

I have one that the blade comes down when I apply pressure, and goes back in when I left. Not sure of the brand. I have had it for years.

I have a blue one made by Eastman, have had it for years and don't know whether they even make it any more.
When you press to cut the safety cover slides up and closes when you lift the blade from the cutting surface. |
I have a Fons & Porter that when you press down to cut the blade is exposed, when you lift up it retracts. I don't care for it because I prefer to cut with a light touch, and it's hard to snug the blade next to the ruler because it only comes down after pressure is applied.

Think there is a brand that is pressure sensitive and only goes out when pressure is applied.

We have two types of cutters, but the Olfa ergonomic is the only type that gets used. You have to hold the handle to expose the blade.
