Santa came early!
DH bought me a Bernina 710!!!! It will be dedicated to my quilt frame and I'm excited because it has an 11" harp. Currently I use my Bernina 440 to quilt but it only has approx. a 7" harp. The extra inches will make quilting so much easier and not having to move my heavy machine will be a blessing.
Congrats on your new machine! So nice that it has a larger harp space. :)
Merry Christmas! I'm also expecting a new machine to arrive just before Christmas. It's on a boat right now and will arrive in a port near me on the 19th of december!
I guess it will be a nice christmas when we can play with our machines. In Sweden (and I guess similarly in the US) the holidays are so spaced out that we have a lot of free time. I only have to take 3 days off to get a 15 days long holiday! |
Congratulations!

You are so lucky. My husband would never buy me a new machine. I've been wanting to add the "Bliss" table upgrade to my APQS long arm table and I am finally within reach of being able to purchase it myself. I am hoping to order it before XMAS, I guess it is my Xmas present to me. I have been talking about it for a year and wanting it (but I have not had the funds for it)but I know I will have to buy it myself if I want to get it--so count yourself lucky that your husband is so generous. Enjoy your new machine. You are right, it will be nice to have a machine on your longarm frame that you do not have to move on and off all the time.

I would never expect my Husband to buy me a machine. I buy my own and get what I want. We both still work full time.
I have two 9" throat machines and three other back up machines. I don't need anything and we don't have room for a long arm. Good for all of you getting what you need. |
Lucky you - I hope you enjoy your new machine!
Congrats!!!! enjoy!!!!
It's exciting to get a new machine! I sewed on the new Bernina 710 in a class and it was really nice.
I got one too! I got it 2 weeks ago, but the day before I got a featherweight and am smitten with it. I have been paper piecing 1/2 square triangles on it (520 to be exact.) Next week, when I am on break, I will open the 710 box and begin to enjoy that as well.

Oh you lucky girl!! Enjoy your new machine.

You are so fortunate! Enjoy that machine! I am quilting a full size quilt on my Bernina Artista 200 with its 7" harp and wishing that I had more space. I do love the BSR. If I didn't have that, I'd really complain. I'd say that you got the best Christmas present ever.

What a nice Santa!!!
Oh what a fabulous husband just what you needed. I purchased a juki straight stitch for my frame for the same reason. I gave up quilting large quilt on my bernina 440 and split large quilts into smaller shapes. It is so much easier.
Unfortunately we are not as fit as the 30 year olds who say do this a husband who understands these problems. Have fun. |
W O W.....have fun! (oh yeah....like I gotta tell you....da-uh!)
What fun! Merry Christmas to you!
CONGRATULATIONS. I'd say DH is definitely a keeper. Have fun and enjoy your new Bernina 710. Lucky girl.
Enjoy!! :)

Congratulations. I recently bought a Janome 8200 with the 11" harp space to put on my frame. I'm also waiting for the Janome 15000 but it won't be delivered until February. It will be designated embroidery machine only.
congrats. have fun!!!
Congrats on your lovely new machine!
you are a lucky girl. most men can't pick a sewing machine any better than they can pick a purse. Good luck with your new machine. You will LOVE it...and LOVE him cuz he really understands what a gal wants!
HOW SWEET, congratulations.
Merry Christmas, enjoy!

tis the season for new machines... Congrats to all who are getting a new (and hopefully) updated machine. I remember how excited I was when I got my Janome. It was a big step up from my older (but reliable) Pfaff and had so many new features. Happy quilting and Merry Christmas.
Congrats on your new baby. I also got an early Christmas present, the Janome 15000. I shouldn't have, cause, well with the economy and everything, but she's mine and now all I need is time to get down to my sewing room and play with her.
