I prefer the first one. More visually appealing.

I prefer B as the focus is the blocks. You won’t be looking for seams amongst the red.

I like B for all the reasons already given. I don't see seams in the picture and I don't think they will be noticeable when this is quilted. You mentioned this is a charity quilt so I wouldn't fret over it much. If it were for judging, that might be different. But of the 2, I like B the best.

I like A; however, I do not find the wide gray strips proportional and are therefore distracting. They seem to take the energy out of the design. I do like the panel pictures very much.
