Also, for future reference (and I learned this after the fact myself), ideally SID is the first step. It helps provide a foundation for your FMQ and ensures your blocks remain square/straight (not saying there's any problem with yours -- it's just a general tip!); and also provides a place to travel stitch as you move from block to block, since a lot of quilters do exactly what you did & will quilt the sashing last.

If your machine has the serpentine stitch you might consider running one or two rows down the center of your sashing. Like your color choices.

I frequently just quilt a wavy line through the sashing.
