If you are putting sashing between your blocks, is the sashing usually a solid color or can it be a print? I have made various red, white and blue pinwheel blocks from a BOM at LQS and now realize I need sashing and have no idea what to use. Not sure a print will really work but not sure what color will work either. I cannot remember seeing any sashing that is not a solid color. Help

Sashing is very often print. Go for it.

I have used small print in sashing, just make sure it doesn't pull your eye away from the blocks.

I've used prints as sashing before, so they can work, and I usually do cornerstones in a solid or almost solid fabric to coordinate.

Can you show us a pic of the blocks?

It sounds like a small red and white print would work.

I rarely use a solid fabric. If I want one color, I use a tone on tone. It gives a little depth and movement to the fabric without taking the focus away from the blocks. We'd love to see pics! hint hint

Might try what I do - take small prints or different solids and just lay it out, put the blocks on that as if using it for sashing, and get an idea of what they will look like, works for me everytime.

Sashing can be print or solid. I test it the way Oksewnsew said before I cut. I test borders the same way.
