I never had a baby shower with my daughter - and I would have loved to have had one. For me, a quilt would have been absolutely perfect.
I'm hoping that if I ever do have another one that I'll get a shower this time! And I'm 28 - never heard of a diaper shower. |
what is the issue? Give the quilt to the intended mother-to-be as a birth present. Why does it have to be a shower present? It seems like you have sent up prescident of qiving quilts for baby and therefore do not want to have hurt feelings if other mom-to- be has 1st baby and does not not one. As for "diaper" shower- what a great idea!!!!! Have you checked the price of diapers lately?

So, guess I'm saying ... give the quilt. |

Aren't those burp cloths made from cloth diapers...looks like you have the diaper part covered.

LOL at Elaine - no, they're made from a cup towel - the cloth diapers she tried to use were not a good quality and she found the softest, most wonderful cup towels.
Here's the quilt top - my friend has it now to put on the binding, so I can't get a more finished pic yet. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-96785-1.htm You can sort of see the burp pad we gave the last one here. The bib was awesome - quite large made from a large washcloth, but I don't have a picture of it. We'll do better about that next time. For a pattern she used a bib she loved when her now 21-year-old daughter was born. After that shower she ended up making several more for people who just had to have one and created a pattern for some others who wanted to make one. It was different in that it covered the shoulders and the top of the arm. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-105989-1.htm |
I would absolutely give it to her, just not at the shower. I also would wait until the baby was born and give it then. She'll be thrilled! :D

This quilt was made with love and for a particular baby so I'd give it. If you're afraid of making others think you're showing off then give it to her another time privately. I'm like you that when I make something there's a certain person in mind.

does she just want diapers?? cloth ones?? you could embroider baby things on the corners of some cloth diapers and wrap them up in the quilt.
