I think Eleanor Burns has a good video on scallops. She is a very good teacher. I also agree with above comment that you should use bias cut strips for scallops. You will be glad you did.

I used Eleanor Burn's ruler! double folded my binding! and IMHO must be on the bias. I was nervous doing my first scalloped edge but mark the edges, step back and let it set for a day or so. Then go back and look at it again. If you are satisfied, then you can cut and sew your binding on. Enjoy the process.

sew the binding onto the scallop markings, then trim. not before. just seems to always be recommended.

Thanks to all who took the time to answer and give me your advice, You are the greatest. I will keep working on this and just try to be patient with it. Hope I learn how to post a picture later.

I teach a beginning binding class on a regular basis, and we bind a scalloped edge. We difinitly cut on the bias. We cut the strips 2 1/4" wide and sew them together on the diagonal. You don't want to cut into the inner corners, or they will flap in different directions. There's lots of tips in my tutorial.

Good Luck!
