Scalloped border/binding help, please

I saw a tutorial (not necessarily here on the board) of a method of binding a scalloped border by sewing a line at 1/4" around the scallops and clipping the "ditches" to the "seam". You then layed the bias binding on and sewed it while straightening out the border at the clipped parts and sewing straight along. this was a video.

Does anybody else remember seeing it? (as others have found, I swear I bookmarked it!)
ready to finish the borders for my Jane Stickle!

try looking for it on youtube
I did scallops and did an inside corner on it. use bias if pulling straight.

youtube has all the answers, to me.

Thanks lynnie, I did and did and did! I'm sure that's where I found it, but can't find now. Any idea of the name of it? Sounds like what you did!

This isn't a tutorial, but a concise explanation of how to bind scallops.
Good luck! Ann

i know that i've seen what you are looking for but cannot find it.
these two links show the technique you are looking for. but they don't have the 1/4" seam sewn first... they just clip within the 1/4". i wasn't getting any results until i entered the term 'inside corners' to the search.

hmmmm, krafty, you beat me to the one link :)

If you're going to cut the scallops before attaching the binding, I would definitely sew the 1/4" seam to stabilize the raw edge first. Once you cut scallops, you've got bias everywhere.

Kitsie, I followed Linda Franz's tutorial when I attached the binding to my Dear Jane. It's not a video, but a good step-by-step tutorial. She gives some great tips, too -- especially on how to avoid seams in the scallop dips or "innies". http://lindafranz.com/section/scallops/38

Thanks you all! Krafty14 & QuiltnNan, thanks. I realized its not only for scallops and also that it is easy enough to figure out! Now to make the continuous bias and mark the quilt! (Lots of tutes for those, too!)

I knew I had saved a tutorial on scallops. Think I found what you want from one of my favorite bloggers/designer. Click on the link above for Ankastreasures and click on February 17,2012 in the right hand column. Great tutorial!
