I recently had a moment like yours and the solution was the same. Only it took several other options untill I tried shutting off the machine and re-starting it. In the future I will try that first. Taking it in for service is the last resort. I always could fix the older machines, but when they started having computers in them, I feel challenged and sometimes overwhelmed.

I'm so glad it worked----

I make quilts---

I am NOT mechanical and understand little about the workings of my sewing machine except that I love her dearly and would be sooooooo sad if she stopped working.

Tsk...you took a page out of my book! Glad you thought to reset her and got her going again!

How true that is, I can't tell you how many times I had an issue with my computer at work - when I called our tech to report it, the first thing they asked was "did you reboot your computer." That also works with your cable box & rcomputer router.
