Well lets see I have paper , thread, applique, fabric scissors in total maybe a dozen or so? How about you?
Which are your favorite???

Patterns I have to many that are waiting in line to be made. How many are waiting for you?

I love notions, gadgets and stuff I am a sucker for them and keep buying? How many notions have you bought that are duds?

I have used Fiskars Rotary cutters since I started this quilting gig...Bought 2, a 45mm and a 65mm...
Then I saw an Olfa at JoAnns, supposed to be ergonomic...
It is a P.O.S.
The blade wobbles, made of cheaper plastic...I hate it!
At the sew expo I found a really neat quilt and bought the pattern. That was a dud as well. Heck, I couldve done it myself.

Okay, patterns, too many to count. Three rotary cutters, 45, 60 and 65. Had to get the 60 as the blades for the 65 were really hard to find. WM quit carrying them. So I broke down and got the 60. Don't remember the brand. Scissors--3 pairs of Fiskars. The teeny ones that are really, really pointed, for clipping threads and into corners and such, then I have what I called the fat lip ones that are recommended for applique, which I do a LOT of. And the Fiskars shears. I bought all Fiskars because of their reputation. the 1st pr was the applique scissors and was happy with them so gradually I added the other two. I have purchased other brands but nothing holds up as well. Most of my patterns have been printed off the computer and are for applique. I have dozens of books and tons of magazines, but hey can you ever have too much?

I have four pairs of Fiskars scissors, different sizes and points, all more than 10 years old, and two Fiskars cutting mats (18x24 and 24x36) that I love dearly. I also have a June Tailor (26x38 ) cutting mat that didn't work out well at all for cutting fabric (so I got the big Fiskars), but is great for cutting matboard, foamcore, etc with a mat knife. It's a hard surface mat. I have two classic (aka old) Olfa rotary cutters, 28mm and 60mm, no 45mm. My biggest dud was an Omnigrip ruler that I bought which I found to be not particularly "grippy", almost impossible to see the fabric edge through and generally very hard to read. It now has a new home with a member here. :D My very favorite notion is an Olfa frosted ruler that, to my mind, is the greatest type of ruler ever made! I definitely need to get more like it!

My favorite "scissors" are some thread snips that I won as award in HighSchool for being the most promissing seamstress. That was over 35 years ago. They are a WISS-CLIP. I can't sew without them. Much better than a seam ripper. They have sharp fine points for little threads, but sturdy enough to not be wobbly. Of course I have my favorite "real" scissors too, and rotary cutters, etc. And 4 large folders of favorite patterns.

I have lots of pairs of scissors, but the ones I use the most are the three in this picture. The ones on the left are my all time favorites. They are about 5 1/4" long and I keep them at my sewing machine for snipping threads, clipping curves, etc. The middle ones were purchased at JoAnne's with a 40% off coupon. They are so pretty and I use them when I am hand sewing. The ones on the right are just fun because they have a chicken on them! Found them at a quilt show.

My favorite rotary cutter is an ergonomic 45mm Olfa. My favorite ruler is 8 1/2 X 24"--it is great for cutting border fabrics.

I have more patterns than I could ever make-but they are all great inspirations!

Favorite scissors...Fiskars...but have more than I care to mention, yes all colors and sizes,,, :roll: Patterns...OMG way to many....gotta have the next magazine,book and pattern.....I've got enough for 2 lifetimes... :roll: :oops: :wink: Notions...seems like I've got it all!! :shock: :roll: :oops: :roll: as for duds....way too many.... and then there is NEW and improverd.... and if one is good two is better and oh yeah one of each color...llets not forget about the rulers....got all sizes but have favorites......... :roll: :wink: Quilt junkie for sure :lol:

duds...for me...Sharpener Disk...work for one cut and had to sharpen again...

Really like the chaulk markers in every color....I realy like my Olfa 65 rotary cutter that you squeeze the handle and the blade come down and when you release the handle the blade goes back up.....lasts a lot longer and safer for me... Rulers I really live Creative Grids....easy to read for me.... :D

I love Ginghers...I have hmmm several. I do have a couple fiskars that I use for "paper scissors" applique/interfacing. I can clip paper with them easily because I also have a sharpener. I couldn't go without it. I have 3 rotary cutters 2 45s and a smaller one on the way.

I noticed someone had an issue with their rotary cutter---I did, too on my older one but just tightened the tension when I changed the blade and it's as good as new....maybe that would be helpful to you as well.

Countless patterns...I have books, hard copies from the internet, packaged patterns, magazine patterns, graph paper doodles...you name it and I've got is somewhere in my semi-organized mess. Someday I hope to have enough time to do projects with at least half of it. :D

Oh boy, lets not count my scissors! I have them in almost every room in the house too. :lol:

Rotary cutters, I have 2, two 6" rulers, and umpteen other gadgets to play with.

Patterns? A few books I've yet to use (don't know why I bought them) and several I have gotten from the internet.

I am always picking up gadgets at Joanns with 40 or 50 percent off coupons.
Eleanor burns flying geese rulers are a must have.
Bent safety pins with plastic covers for pining before quilting.
Quilt clips for the edge of the table to stretch the backing before the batting and top are added.
But I have found that a sewing table for flat surface quilting is the best thing yet.
I have so many pattern books and mags but I always end up using El Burns patterns. They turn out so well, never have a problem with her patterns.
I have half a dozen different scissors but only use my small ones for clipping threads etc. The big ones get so little use that I wont spent the money for good ones.
Got several different feet for my machine that are must haves. 1/4 in and the stitch in the ditch and the walking foot.
