I have been given a bag of Scottish Plaid fabrics. I need to come up with a wall hanging or small lap quilt using these fabrics. Does anyone know where I can get a free pattern that would lend itself to the Scottish plaids?

Thanks,

Lynn

You could make these cute little scottie dogs & use the plaid/tartan for their blanket/coat.

Here is another site, that was/is closed down, but I managed to get the link to come through this time?

Thank you. This has to be my favorite site...there is always someone to answer questions and give a hand.

I cannot show you a pic sorry but two quilts I am definately going to make I saw in plaids some time back in a mag, easy to make tho, one was the shape of a cat in all the blocks each was made of a different plaid, you can trace a cat shape from almost anywhere and the other quilt had a large apple shape in each block made out of plaids with two small leaves attached to the stalk, each apple was a different plaid and each apple was made different by adding a small insect to to each apple eg a bee on one and a lady bug on another etc. Hope you can follow but those two quilts really stood out for me by a mile, I love plaids, these were so easy to do, both had sashings etc between the blocks. You can use childrens colouring books to get a cat or apple shape from.
