Just was thinking ... what about a flange border on each of your blocks of 36 to help frame them up? Then your sashing with the 4-patch cornerstones?

If you're not wanting to do anymore small square work, then take what you have and draft it up on graph paper to see what you can do to bring it to the size you want via your sashing and borders.

Do you have enough strips to make them into a piano key border?

I just discovered this brick border -- http://tlc.howstuffworks.com/home/br...r-pattern.htm.
Can you cut your strips into bricks like this? I really liked the way it came out. here's the quilt top I made:

Lynn has a great idea for the border.
I would not use the strips for the sashing much to busy.
Just a solid neutral color.
They would be great for the border.

thanks for all the suggestions. I just saw a picture of a pattern in connecting threads that I am going to copy. The pattern shows a border around each square and then three strips around that. I plan to use a nice green around the squares and start from there....This will make the squares larger and going to use up the strips and make more squares as I don't think there is enough to use for sashing. Don't want to run out. so back to making more squares.
Thanks again . Quilting Board members are great and help alot.
