I hope this link works, its for a pattern on e-bay and if you can figure the dimensions out it looks like a great way to use up oddments. If anyone does figure it out I would be grateful. Katherine |
Maxie: I think this pattern appeared in a quilt magazine someone gave me recently or that I have a subscription for. I'll find it and let you know.

Thank you Feathers.

the pattern is a square, with rectangles between. At each end of the triangles, the quilter sewed two half square triangles to create the star points. For a sample, I would grab up a five inch square, four three inch rectangles (3x5), sewn to each side of the square and then a square (3x3) for the corners. From there, you should be good to go for a whole quilt.

correction ... at the end of the rectangles ... the quilter sewed two half square triangles on each end to create the star points.
Sorry for the mistake |
the "three inch squares" are the colors of the points. That is where the star is formed. To make a whole quilt, you would plan it out in strips, it looked like to me ... but, then ... <g> it is always easier to type than actually plan out the whole thing, isn't it? LOL

Omak is right.
El Burns pattern for the star log cabin uses that in the sashing to form stars. |
Try this....looks just like it!

I first saw this pattern as "Stardust" by Gail Abloe. I made three quilts from it and also use it as a setting for blocks changing the sizes as appropriate. It was also in a magazine years ago. It is very pretty and makes up fast.
