I really enjoyed bonnie hunters site, and am currently making progress on the sacks of scraps. All the while, I am seeing several more quilts in the making. The smaller pieces that are left from the strips I am cutting are going into my cake pan to use on the paper piecing project in the making......now I don't feel so bad using my larger pieces in this project. It's all turning out to be a win win situation! Can't wait to get my new sewing room completed to take pics and show all y'all what your inspirations mean to me! I'm so excited, and can't tell you how much your help means to me.

Yes, that is an awesome site! I've had it bookmarked for a long time. I've just restarted sewing and quilting in the last year. I had forgotten how much I truly enjoy this, and sooo many new ideas and ways to do the patterns. |
I love scraps! I spend time watching tv with my little table and small cutting board cutting them all up. I try to cut the largest square up to 5" then whatever I can from the rest down to 1.5 " I sort in tubs by size and go from there. If it is a larger piece and I can go wof, I cut 2.5 inch strips.

If it was me, and i wish it was :) I'd keep them, trim if needed (like if circles had been cut from them etc) to the largest they can be and keep them that way until you think you need them smaller. I'd hate to cut them down, then find out they would fit a pattern better as bigger pieces. They're yours. Don't rush - they'll tell you eventually how they need to be.

Whew! Three days of ironing the wads and cutting the scraps into strips.....and I still have a 30 gallon tub of larger pieces to sort thru and add to my stash.....eventually I should have a decent stash to stare at, lol!
