I have a totally stupid question.
I have a bunch of novelty fabric that says "screen print" on the selvage. How does that differ from regular cotton fabric? And is it better or worse for quilting than fabric that isn't screen print? Here's what it looks like: |
Almost all patterned quilting fabric, with the exception of batiks, hand dyes and homespuns are screen print. You know all those little colored dots you often see on the selvedge of fabric? Those are registration marks for each color in the screen printing process. Every different color is a different screen.
|
it's just the manufacturing process- most of the cotton prints you use are made that way-

Thanks for the info! I thought since it said "screen print" it was something different than what I usually buy. But now I know it's not.
I knew I asked the right people! |
