I know in most cases instructions say to press to the dark and some say to press open if you have alot of seams coming together. Does an open seam stand up as well as one that has been pressed to the side? I'd hate to get it all put together and have the block fall apart. Help Please!

Becky, I try to press seams to reduce bulk. If I can press to the darker fabric, that's ideal. I think it's probably a little stronger but it's not always a joy to hand-quilt through! Press to get the block to lie nicely flat and I'm sure nothing will fall apart on you :D

Thanks for the info, my goal is to hand quilt this one and anything to make it easier is a help. I might get it to my son and dil by their 5th wedding anniversary.
