I haven't tried these but grew up using single edge razor blades. Anchor under the pressor bar and rip away. Ah the memories.

I thought exactly the same thing while pulling out stitches one day. I know darn good & well that my grandmother always used a razor. I finally found a razor blade seam ripper at a vendor's booth at a small quilt show and I love, love, love it. It's very similar to the Havel's type only much smaller. Shirley's Creative Sewing was the name of the vendor but that web site isn't working today. I also have 2 of the Havel types only I believe mine were Sullivan's brand and came with 3 different types of blades. I only use the Havel type blade--the other's are even more wicked looking.

I have a mini seam ripper that is like a razor blade with a handle, only $1.50. I gave some to the ladies in my quilt guild and they loved them. They are VERY sharp! The website where I bought them is www.tooltron.com

There was a Quilt In A Day episode some time ago that EB showed how to use the rotary cutter. I use if I have only a short distance to rip. Also use razor blades. Will check out the eyebrow things next time I'm at the $ store.

Hurry up and buy them now before the quilting industry finds out. Then they will package them for quilters and charge and arm, a leg and a fat quarter for them
