searching for a past post, please help
I am searching for the tutorial of how a member did a silhouette wallhanging from pictures of family. I think she did these for graduation presents. I have search the archives and current post but cannot find them. I have looked under silhouette, graduation gifts, and tutorials. No luck. If you know what I am talking about please reply to post.
Thanks so much!!!! Susan |
It was grammatjr.
She was calling them Fusible Stained Glass Portrait Quilts. I refer to them as the Diploma Quilts ;-) Very neat effect. She did, however, pull the tutorial off the board because she was going to write a book. The link below is to her post explaining that. http://www.quiltingboard.com/tutoria...ml#post4023824 However, if you use the links in the post right after, you should find enough information to make your own. I do not know the status of the book - I don't remember reading anything further about it on the board, but I could have missed it. You could PM her for more info. |
She first posted those diploma/graduation quilts in early 2011.
Here are more recent quilts she did using the same technique: http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...t-t196596.html http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...t-t196594.html |
It looks like the tutorial has been removed by request as she is working on a book?

Thank you for the information...wish I had downloaded the tut ...would buy the book anyway as I am a visual person but would love to try now. I have sent a PM to find out when the book will be out. I did look at the other info and will try but...not too sure about what to do...love pictures.
Thank you for the link. Its been awhile since I have been on...taking care of elderly parents and spare time is at the sewing machine. I am trying a thread painting wall hanging...loving it....if you have threads to any who have tried or advise...please send them to me. Blessings to you today! Happy stitching! Susan |

I have added a project like this to my bucket list as well. Have a look at the post above. There are written instructions. I have not tried them yet, but hope to soon. amh |
