Ok so I went and picked up my quilt from the LAQ shop I was so excited. I thought it really was great ! Very happy with the way it turned out. I could not bind it till this morning. So as I was binding it there is a small place where it looks like the tip of a pair of scissors clipped it. I was upset but just thought that would be a good place to put may label or maybe i will but a butterfly as mt sorta trade mark what do you think. It is in the washing machine and soon as it is dry I will try and post a picture. Thanks

was the nick on the top or bottom....I would put a stitch or two in the clip and a good drop of fray block....you don't want that to spread with use of the quilt. I would also give the LAQS a call and tell them what you found. That is not acceptable on any scale.... IMHO

If you're going to use a butterfly as a trademark I think that would look good - it'd look good even if you're not.
A butterfly could go anywhere, a label is usually in corners at the base of a lining.
On another topic, stayed up til 1 am to watch the Reds slaughter the Giants.

Frey check for sure. If it is on the back, it is easy, whatever you do will look cool and uniquely yours. If it is in the front it depends what kind of quilt it is. I intentionally put rather rough looking patches on some old quilts where the fabric was damaged, but worked with that type of quilt.

You can also often slide a little bit of fusible underneath and iron to fuse the edges together before appliqueing something over it.

Sorry about the cut in the quilt, but you have good ideas on how to fix it. This may not even be the longarmer's fault. I've sometimes found little holes in brand new fabric, holes that I assume were caused during manufacture.

A butterfly is a good idea. Fray Check is also a good idea. Sometimes thing just happen, but sorry it happened to you. Maybe someone dropped scissors or something.
