Hi... I'm Debbie from FL. Been quilting for quite some time. My grandmother taught me. When I got married she gave me a quilt made with scraps from the clothes she made me when I was growing up. She's gone now but my grandson loves sleeping with Memere's quilt. His mother use to do the same.

I need some help please. My son wants a Seminole Patchwork Jacket. Problem: Dose anyone know the meaning of any of the patterns used? I have an older book that show many designs but nothing that gives any clue as to weather or not they stand for something. He is a member of Order of the Arrow. Others with jackets give conflicting info on the designs of their jackets. Not having any luck finding info. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Do a search for Seminole Patchwork

I found an interesting description there

Knowing teen age boys, I can imagine the ideas they have on this.
Don't ask THEM, ask the Scout Master to get permission to give you the mothers' names and phone/email addresses.

Thanks---This "boy" is 35. The "others" is this instance are SM and their asst. and other adult leaders. I guess I'm pulling teeth where there aren't any! I have found some doing the "search" but not many that list the meanings. Only have 10 at this point. Found reference to a Seminole Library that I could call. Guess that's the next step.
