Serpentine stitch

How do you think a serpentine stitch running the length of a quilt would look on a chevron quilt? My chevron blocks are 8 inches, the quilt top 68" x 88". Would it interfere with the geometry of the chevrons? The chevrons are all different blues on a background of white so no row is made of just one shade/pattern. Would it become to confusing visually? This quilt is for my grandson so I want the quilting pattern to be fairly dense-ish to provide good longevity from "boy rumpling"!

It adds texture and I think it would be fine running the length of the quilt but it would highlight the chevrons more if you went with the pattern across the quilt.

I agree with Tartan about running the stitch diagonally like the pattern. On both my chevron quilts, I did a loopy trail on each diagonal.

I would go with the chevrons in varigated blues in normal quilting. If I put in a serpentine row would do more than one row.

Totally off topic ... but I used to live on a street called Serpentine Road! You posting brought it back to my memory.
