I busted out my sewimg tin and went for the thread so I could do some hand quilting, all my thread was dried up and brlttle! Serves me right, its only been 15 years! It was too late to go out so tomorrow morning I will be looking at new thread,yay! Oi, those size 12 needles are TINY. I think I'll warm up my finger with a 10. I don't care if the stitch per inch is not as good. I used to get 10 per inch, but I wear bifocals now and still don't see as well.

The new threads available now are so much better than 40 years ago when I started quilting.

Glad to have you back quilting. I'm pretty sure that no one you make a gift for will know what size needle you used, so just get what's easiest for your new vision and enjoy! :)

spritz it with water and place in a ziploc in the freezer for a couple of days..take out and let sit in the bag for a couple more days..

re-hydrating those fibers often will help them become usable again!
