I'm wondering how everyone else lays out the triangles and square to make sure they're lined up and centred? Do you eyeball it or mark each centre?

Jim's Gem 08-03-2009 02:45 PM

Well the best thing to do is mark the Center. Depending on the project, sometimes I mark and sometime I eyeball it. :)

I finger press my pieces. I fold the square in half and finger press. Then I fold the triangle in half and finger press. Then I line up the "fold" lines and sew.

Yes, if I mark, it is usually by finger pressing the fold, sometimes I will put a tiny pencil mark in the seam line or even a pin depending on the situation

I also finger press each piece and then line them up by the creases

Oklahoma Suzie 08-03-2009 03:53 PM

I always mark it.

I mark it. If I don't...none will be the same. :?

I use Fons and Porters triangle end trimmers, than I just line up the edges and have perfect blocks every time. Doesn't take any longer than finger pressing as I trim as I cut out the pieces

Thanks :-)

I have a whole lot to make up for the blue and yellow swap, and was wondering how everyone did it.

I've eyeballed it in the past, but it's not a good enough match.
