I have been to the one in Cosby. It is worth the drive. Also there used to be some little shops behind the Old Mill Restaurant in Pigeon Forge. They had lots of patterns.

I just went there in May. Machine Quilting by Iva and The Cherry Pit are both very nice stores!

Check out this site for AL: http://www.quilt.com/Stores/SouthEast/Alabama.html Here's one for southeast TN: http://www.quilt.com/Stores/SouthEast/Tennessee.html Please check to see if the shop is still in business before you go out of your way. Ask as you go if there is a quilt shop that can be recommended. Sometimes you'll find a gem tucked away in a little town. Have a great trip! |
what a small small world. Our son was stationed in Egypt for a year and found a truck that he wanted us to go buy (online) with his money- so that he would have a nice truck waiting for him when he got home. We live in ill and the truck was in seiverville tenn. I would have went because I love to go to different quilt shops when i travel- but i had to work.

Was in Sevierville about 7 yrs ago......stayed at a lovely house up on English Mountain (don't know if it is still there or called that) anyway half way this mountain on this really scarry road was tucked away the most delightful quilt shop I had ever seen - called Five Gs - she had five grandchildren. What spectacular views from her floor to ceiling windows...I will always remember them. I think of that place often...wish I was a Rockefeller, I would buy it from her and spend my time gazing at nature at its finest....those Smoky Mountains............hmmmmm
I know there is a quilt expo in Pigeon Forge each year now so the area really must have expanded with quilt shops......you will have fun exploring the hollows!!!!! |

Thanks "Trussville, AL has a nice shop just off of 59 called Heart to Heart. In Chattanooga Tenn there is Lavender and Lime quilt shop. Some like it but it is not my favorite. My favorite store was in Ringold GA not far out of Chattenooga, but it blew away in the April tornadoes and has not yet gotten back it's space and supplies but they say they will. Ringold's store name is Sew Bee It. " Hope this helps. Happy Traveling. |
