If you are going to prepare it to use when the power goes out, don't forget to get a light set up that uses batteries. I grew up using a treadle and when the power went out I couldn't sew because there was not light. Didn't have all the cool gadgets/lights we have now.

Good idea!

Just be sure, if you are switching between machines, that the seam allowance will be exactly the same. Would be worth testing this out with some scrap fabrics just to make sure all your blocks will fit together no matter which machine they were made on.

I love the foot exercise that a treadle machine provides!

This is wonderful news . I do the same thing. My treadle machine is in my kitchen under the window so I can sew anytime. I even have kerosesne lamps for night time sewing sessions Love it! Treadles rock! ha ha :D
