I use the fishing box designed for lures, it comes with dividers so you can make the slots different sizes to accommodate your feet, I also keep needles, bobbins ect...
in there, so if I am going some where I just need my box and I have all that I need with me |
I use a small notebook with clear plastic pages with pockets. I printed a copy of the foot with name and put the foot in the pocket. I want a foot I open the notebook and look at the name w/picture and have my foot. The notebook sits on the shelf with the pattern books easily and always available. My travel machine does not have a notebook just a small divided pouch; I don't have alot of feet to take when I travel or go to meeting. Usually a project is designated and only the necessary items are taken. It works for me. A year ago I sent the idea in to Fons and Porter and have not heard back.

I have one drawer in my sewing table. i don't use this space for anything but purple plastic ice cube trays. All my sewing feet go in the trays and are always right at the machine.
The feet have numbers on them and so do the tray holes so they always go back in the same spot. Other, larger feet are also in the drawer but kept in the plastic holder they came in. peace |
For those using or considering the magnetic strip to hold feet (or magnetic pin holders for that matter), consider the fact that the magnet will magnetize the feet just as the knife racks magnetize knives stored on them.

I use thes boxes to keep my sewing thread in, it is great and you can see through to get the color you need. They are great for your embroidery thread if you are going to take it from home. Lots of uses for these.

My DH just bought me a wooden box with lots of drawers for all my special stuff for my machine. It even locks so others can't mess with your stuff! He got it for me in Harbor Freight.

I use one of the small plastic see through craft storage boxes with dividers. I use a marker to label the type of foot per compartment.

Sewing feet storage?.... what I really want to know is if any of you have come up with a better system for storing your feet?
I store my walking foot on my Consew 225. My wide zigzag foot is on my Singer 20U33. My regular zigzag foot is on my Singer 403A. My straight stitch foot is on my Singer 28K2 Handcrank. My other straight stitch foot is on my Singer 66-1 Handcrank. My darning foot is on my Singer 96-40. My zipper foot is on my Singer 834 Stylist. And my quilting foot w/guide is on my Singer 404. ThayerRags, Oh my! I wouldn't want to jump from machine to machine! Good way to get my daily excercise though! LOL ;) I'm down to 5 machines and thinking about getting rid of 2 more, to much clutter!
