? on sewing Hexes
 

I have made a double size GFG so I was taught to sew the solid color around the yellow center hex and then add another row of a coordinating print. But what order do you sew this pattern in? I was inspired by the posting of Lynn's hexagon quilt that she is making.

I really am one of those picky non scrappy so I want to balance the placement of which fabric goes where. I am doing a table runner for my best friend. Thinking next of making a placemat for Meals on Wheels next.

I also would appreciate any suggestion on how to finish off the edges. This is addicting but calorie free enjoyment.
