I have always wondered it I got a bit of a "lemon" as it's straight stitch looks like my machine is an alcholic on a bender with every stitch at a slightly different angle to one side or the other from stitch to stitch.

I can't address the drunken angled stitches, lol, but my Babylock Serenade has those new wide feed dogs, and I need to start out my stitching slowly, just for the first 4-5 stitches, so the fabric won't pull to one side. Mine would pull to the right, making the seam allowance too scant, if I tried to start out fast.

Kaelyn, what brand machine do you have? On my Janome when you drop the feed dogs with the switch and then switch it back to the feeddogs up position it does not engage and raise them until you start stitching.

It could also be your pressure foot pressure, or a bind in the machinery. take the machine in for a check up & ask the pro's to fix it
