I have an 13+ year old hand me down kenmore machine.
I put it on zig zag to practice satin stitching... which wasn't turning out well and not entierely my fault, I think my machine is screwy. So today, I switch it back to straight stitch, go to sew and BAM, broke the needle. The thing was still zig zagging, even thought I'd turned the dial to straight stitch. I had to monkey with the dial back and forth a few times and it finally started sewing straight when I set it to straight. Weird. |
Sounds like your machine to go into the shop. Good luck.

Deflinately time for a little work on your machine. It is hard to be without it, I know, but it is so much fun to sew on a newly cleaned and fixed up one.
Yup, sounds like it needs a bit of a tune-up.
Yep, your machine sounds like it could be sick
Tune-up time sounds like it is in your future.
 Well, that just stinks. Don't really have the cash now for that. Guess I'll just leave it on straight stitching and work with that.

Murphy's Law for Sewing Machines: They don't get sick until a month before Christmas when you need them the most....
