Does anyone here have a Brother PQ-1500. I have been looking at it for the large throat. I already have 2 brothers and love them.

I Love my 1500. I use it on my frame. I have a total of three Brother machines myself. Each has its own job but can work as back up to the others if needed.

I have a PQ 1500 (and 2 other Brothers) and I love it. I got it to go on the frame but at the moment I am piecing with and it is great.

None of the reviewers I read liked it for fmq or using on a frame-needles and thread breaking.

I've had my machine for 6 years. I've never had a needle break and as for thread breaking... it happens but I wouldn't say it was extreem. I use my 1500 on a Handi Quilter II Frame that I have extended to 12 feet using a PC Quilter automated quilting carriage (soon to be upgraded to MRQ using Pro Q designer software) I love all my Brother machines.

I just purchased this machine from Amazon. You can check out my review on this machine on Amazon, it's under Leslie. I'm pretty candid. I'm creating a sit down FMQ setup and will be posting pictures when I get it all together.

I was considering both this machine and the Juki TL98Q. The 1500 was more practical for my application. I'm really pleased with it. I'm partial to Brother but I also have a Juki machine that is an outstanding performer so it came down to features when I made a decision.

Thank you all for your input. I am leaning toward getting the PQ1500 and it was good to hear you all like it. One question I forgot to ask is can you control the speed at which you sew. Thanks

Only by using the foot control, but I know you can buy a stitch regulator for it.

Just like a regular sewing machine, you can learn to regulate the speed by the amount of pressure you put on the foot pedal.

Oddly enough, when I FMQ, I can still get perfect stitches on both sides by moving my fabric slower than the speed I am going. Go figure. Can't do that on my regular sewing machine, I must be going at an equal pace.
