A Singer 247- simple(and a hand-me-down),
but dependable and sturdy, and does the job;
although i haven't tried machine quilting with it *yet*.

Sewing machines: Have three plus a serger. My main machine is a Janome 10,000, two Vikings and my Babylock serger. I prefer the Vikings but mostly use the Janome.

My problem with the Janome is the short curved housing in front of the arm which required you to sew uphill which isn't very convenient. I had a table built to surround it and have a sheet of vinyl surrounding as too many items (pins, scissors, picks, etc) fall between the table and machine. I would really like to try the Bernina with BSR.

And I'm next oldest to Doris, as I'll be 71 in October.

am a dedicated PFAFFIE - I've had Pfaffs for over 40 years.

I am currently the owner of an 2170 and a 2025 which is being traded in on the new fabulous Creative Vison (CV).

Welcome Evelyn:

Glad you joined us.

I have a Pfaff Hobbylock serger but my sewing machines are the Janome New Home 8000 (Love it), Brother XR-65t (cheapy machine from WalMart but I love it. I use it for all the on-the-road classes I take). Also have a Singer Featherweight that is OLD, a 100 + year old White that was converted from treadle to electric by my grandfather back in the early days of electricity. My grandmother was a dressmaker/seamstress and she helped make the family living with this machine. I also have a little Singer mender that sounds like a thrashing machine and does only simple sewing but it's perfect for our grandkids when they come and want to get creative in grandma's sewing room.

Have a great week. Again, glad you're one of us.

I have a Janome Memory Craft 7000, it's 22 years old and is soon to step down for my Pfaff that's coming. I love my Janome, but it's at an age now where I can't replace the walking foot, but it has sentimental value and I'm keeping it. I also have a brother serger. :)

I'm a Kenmore fan...own 4 of those...but also have a new (walmart) brother which I bought to teach my granddaughter to sew and I don't like it and neither does she! LOL Of course she may have heard gramma "cursing" it a bit and that may have swayed her (she is only 7)....have just been given my MIL's Viking....still learning to use that one but so far I like it...and I have a white, a new home and a singer that need work! Oh, and I also have a brand spanking new (4 years ago) serger, never used! But I HAD to have a serger! Thankfully, it came with a dust cover!
