Have you been watching the ombre quilt series on Sewing With Nancy the last 3 weeks? Marvelous! I got to have some of that Ombre cloth. (I refuse to use the word, "F----c" on this QB any more, so from now on, it's "cloth".) What she used today for her Dresden Fan quilt made me drool, but I have to wait for it ... I can't find it anywhere, not even on her on-line catalog site. She does have some nice Ombre offered, but not that one she used today for the fans.

clem55 06-07-2010 12:56 PM

I use to watch her all the time, but we don't get her here anymore. Hate missing her, learned a lot from her shows.Carol

No link. PBS at 6:00 or 6:30??? a.m. Saturday. Now that we have a satellite dish & DVR, I set her to record, as I do Eleanor Burns' show. This also allows me to watch them whenever I have the time, pause, re-play, etc. (I do a lot of fast forwarding.)

All the rest of the good quilting/sewing shows have gone to the good t.v. programming graveyard; they might interfere with the 98% total crap that's on t.v. nowadays.

Yes! Yes! Yes! I'll expect to never do a landscape quilt ... they are nice, but just not my "thing", but I want to do the fans and the strippy one from the first show.

Did you try Googling Ombre f----c?? I haven't seen Nancy's show so not sure which one she used.

Yup! Not much luck there yet for any ombre f----c, but I figure it's new-ish and early days, yet. I'm convinced it will become very popular.

I haven't watched them, but I have them on the DVR. Now you have me all curious, I'll have to watch when I get home.

CarrieAnne 06-07-2010 01:21 PM

I love her show too, but always forget about it. thanks, will check it out!

Lacelady 06-07-2010 01:24 PM

I hesitate to ask, but what is wrong with that f....c word? It took me years to use that instead of material.

after what's been going on around here for the past several weeks, i totally grasp the logic of the word substitution.

OOPS! we might be hijacking the topic.

to get back on track ...

quiltsRfun 06-07-2010 01:53 PM

I've seen some ombre batiks that would be fantastic in both designs. Just can't remember where I saw them.

I *Love* Ombre fabric! The 3 episodes of Sewing with Nancy originally aired last year. Have you tried equilter.com?

Darlene 06-08-2010 11:37 AM

I saw that series a few weeks ago and that quilt is a beauty. I expect that fabric is not some of hers though.

No, I haven't, but I will. I used to tape all the sewing/quilting shows for many years (I've got hundreds of episodes, all catalogued), but then I just kind of quit watching t.v. We just got the satellite dish and DVR at the end of 2009, so thought I'd troll for sewing shows to record; that's how I found Eleanor Burns' show and Nancy and set them to record.

If you go to Nancy's Notions and under her DVD (Versatile Ombre Quilting), click on more views. There is a fan in pastel ombres shown. Link:
http://www.nancysnotions.com/product...lting+book.do#

Then under fabric, it looks like she has the pastel ombre for sale. Link:

Hope this is what you are looking for.
P.S. I purchased the earth tone ombre and they are beautiful!!
