I would like to know if there is any patterns or instructions out there to make a wooden puzzle box for sewing? I am looking for a pattern that Look like the singer oak sewing box.

I don't have a pattern but the puzzle box is 6.5" long 3 3/8 " wide and high the wood is 1/4 thick the ends are dove tailed and cut corner to corner in an X it two hinges on three sides I hope that helps a little. Mine is from 1898

I think I have all the pieces except for the 2 small screwdrivers that go on the left side. Sorry for the toes, at least I had a pedicure!! LOL

There is a group on Yahoo--Singer. They may have some ideas. It is just a place to show off your vintage Singer 'stuff'...

Thanks. I do think these boxes are so neat. I am wanting my husband to make me one. So any information on them is very helpful.

Maybe someone will let you borrow theirs so he can make templates. Maybe a new business?

They come up for sale on eBay regularly, often they don't have the contents, so then you could reline it with new felt and customize the interior.
