I have a Question I'm making a Bluejean quilt and I use the 1/4 inch sewing
foot, so what I'm needing to know is how will I be able to keep the materal from unraveling using the straight stich that you use with that 1/4 in sewing foot? Pickles |
on demim, I usually make my seams a bit larger, AND be sure to use a shorter length stitch.

Depending on the pattern that you are using, you can use the serger.

Thank you I will do what saravincent said as I don't have a serger..Thanks for your help it has helped allot.

Before I had the serger, I would sew a skimpy 1/4 in. from the edge, then the seam. When it raveled, after washing, it never went past the first line.

I would use a larger seam allowance and shorter stitches.
If it is going to get a lot of hard ware, I might even double stitch the seams! |
Thanks everyone I have shortened the stitchs and I'm double
stiching each sq. as I really can't widen the seam alowness since I'm making a 10 by 10 sq.. Thanks for all your help , when I can I'm going to get a Serger though.. :) |
since denim is so thick, i would press the seams open.
