Sewing quilt

;) I was just wondering what setting for stitches per inch do you use when piecing your quilt and do you use different setting when FMQ thanks from a newbie

When piecing I use 2.0 or 2.5 as the stitch setting. As a rule when I am working with small pieces I shorten the stitch lenght. For larger piecies I use the 2.5 . When paper peicing I use 1.0.
Free motion - I set the stitch lenght to 0, since its how fast I move the fabric that determines the actual final stitch lenght.

Whatever the machine comes on with is what I use - I assume it's the standard stitch
Occasionally I want a smaller stitch - like when I do a BOM for charity and I know it'll get tossed around alot or when I'm working with very small pieces.
I don't do machine quilting, so can't help you there.

The regulator I really use alot is to sew with a scant 1/4".

I guess because my machine is 35 years old the settings are different than the newer machines. I stitch at10/ per inch?

12 per inch....or whatever the seam ripper point fits under easily if I have to "reverse sew".:)
