1. Buttons sewed on with dental floss will stay on as long as the garment lasts.

2. Save your old prescription bottles to store broken needles

1. I wrap up my worn out or broken needles in tape before trashing them. That way if I have to go back into the trash, I don't have to worry about sticking myself with a needle.

2. I use beeswax if the thread is tangling. the wax will strengthen the thread & keep it from tangling as much.

First of all, Crafty, I think this is a marvelous idea for a tread! A couple of my ideas are:

1. Adhere a strip of craft magnet (the wide one with adhesive on one side) onto your sewing machine. When removing pins while sewing it's easy to drop the pin in the direction of the magnet and it's there! Much faster than searching for a pin cushion and you'll also have pins handy right where you need them.

2. Have a little fabric left over when cutting for a project? Cut a 1-1/2 inch or 2-1/2 strip and place in box or drawer to have ready to use when you want to do a project that calls for a strip.(works especially well if you do log cabin or nine patch blocks) I like to have two containers for each size; one for light colors and another for darks.

Great ideas....mine is: when i finish a project i usally write on a note pad the item, needle size and whatever stitches(lenght and width) i used. That way i know how to set up the machine the next time

I use small empty prescription bottles to take my prewound bobbins with me.

I use orangewood sticks (manicure) as a stilitto. I buy them at the beauty supply 100 at a time.

To make a no wall damage quilt hanger, use command sticky strips and a magnetic knife strip. Then you can put a small metal curtain rod thru the tube on the quilt and it'll stick to the magnetic strip. When you want to take it down just pull on the command strips and the whole thing comes off the wall.
