Sewnsewer,

I really like the tall white cabinet with doors. Looks perfect for fabric storage. Is it IKEA?

I am just finishing my laundry/sewing room. It is 10x10. Not large, but I am trying to utilize the space wisely. I have cabinets overhead - filled with fabrics. I bought a table from IKEA - adjustable height, which is perfect for sewing and I also bought a mobile drawer unit from IKEA to fit under the table. Tubs fit nicely under the table in the back and the wasted space on the side of the table was perfect for a low bookcase. Peg board along the wall is perfect for hanging odds and ends. When the room is completed, I will be posting pictures. Good luck!

These rooms are beautiful. My home is VERY small and I have to cut all over the house and move my laptop aside to sew.

Can I come and live with one of you guys?

I love your set up! I've been interested in making long tables like you have, too. Would you mind telling me the dimensions of your tables? And their height too, please. Were your supplies found at a regular home improvement store, or?? Thanks so very much. :-)

Where do you store your fabric? Do you have a cutting table?

Instead of setting my sewing machine table against a wall, i set it in the middle of the room and put the chair against the wall. Since the room i use has a center ceiling light, i feel i get better lighting than if my machine is against the wall.

Check out the OTT lites, I have a floor model set up behind my sewing table. It helps while cutting or sewing.

Good storage, lighting and cutting tables are the most important things that need to be considered when you are setting up. I found open shelves that are deep enough to put large plastic storage containers on work well. You can see what is in them. My cutting table is on wheels so I can move it to one side if I need floor space. Also make sure the cutting table is a good height so you don't have to bend while cutting(saves your back).
