The pictures posted of sewing areas are my very favorite thing on the board. So many wonderful ideas. Most I would never think of on my own. It would be wonderful to have a thread featuring sewing rooms.

Another thing I enjoy is the information on machine embroidery techniques, designs, stabilizers and machines. I have learned so much from posts on the board.

Also the information posted about quilting on a home system. I have a 9 1/4" harp machine on a grace frame and really don't know how to use it to anywhere near its capacity.

Quilts and quilt pictures spur me on to get up from the computer and to stitch!

I have been using a domestic machine, with a smaller harp than yours, on a quilt frame . Of course my quilting area is greatly limited. I have done free hand meandering and I have purchased a board with groves in it that you use with a stylus and quilt from the back. I've attached photos of two quilts. The first was free hand meander and the second was done with the grove board I purchased from rns-design.com - great people and very helpful!
The attached photos are both baby quilts but I have done up to queen size on my small machine.

I'm guessing Alleyoop means she quilts from the back of the machine, not the back of the quilt. BUT - it is possible to quilt from the back if you use a fabric with designs that you can stitch right over, using the fabric design as if it was a design you marked on the fabric.

Alleyoop, thank you for the link. I have a used Grace frame with a small hoop DM on it (which I have yet to use). Some of their board designs will work for me. Plus they are in my neck of the woods. Always learning something on this board.:thumbup:
