Sewing sabbatical is over!

I cannot believe that I have not done much sewing for FOUR months.. The longest ever. I usually slack off in June and July since I spend time outside, gardening, etc. The weather had been wonderful much longer but the tide is turning. Fall is here and it gets dark early. Grrr.

I actually went upstairs and started to put the binding on a Kimberbell Christmas quilt that I pieced and had quilted last winter. Felt GREAT to be back in my sewing sanctuary. Oh, In the last month I have also have purchased fabric for 4 new projects get started on. Yea...like I needed more projects! Lol.

You go Girl!!!! Have fun....I just started the Christmas table toppers - only making 11 of them. Sounds like you are ready to go.

A severe ankle injury has kept me off work for almost three weeks......so the gardening has been out of the question. I was unable to get to the basement (sewing room) until Monday night, but sewing was out of the question. I had my scraps (which were in paper box tops) brought up and spent several hours cutting them into squares. I am anxious to get sewing again. I did manage to bind a fall table runner that had been sitting on the table. Fall is my favorite season and I always look forward to making something that reflects the colors!

Good for you! The only bad thing about this time of year is knowing winter is coming soon. But winter is a good time to stay holed up quilting.

Oh wonderful! I have been off sewing for a while too. Injured my right hand and arm with a tendonitis problem. I have been slowly working back into the rhythm of my sewing routine. It feels so good to be productive again. I am gal that you are in the groove again too.

Much like you Sandy, I enjoy being outdoors all summer. I have a beautiful vegetable garden each year and live on an island midcoast Maine and the weather this summer was incredible. I am getting ready to move back to our winter home where I will reunite with my Janome.

We look forward to seeing photos of your upcoming projects.

Welcome back! Once in the room, it's hard to get out! With so many co-workers pregnant (who I like), I've been quite busy up in my sewing studio too! Just for poops and giggles, I also popped in there to make a set of napkins for a co-worker who I respect and love.

I'm much the same way...I don't always log in, but do check to see what's going on. I, too, have begun doing more projects. My lovely daughter-in-law is encouraging me to get burp cloths and receiving blankets done so she can help me get busy selling them online. I'll also do christening gowns once I'm up and running.
