For those who sew with selvages, how much fabric do you like to have on the selvage?

1.5 inches from edge of selvage is what I have been cutting.

sometimes 1/2" sometimes more= depends on how much was cut off with it- i tend to cut off the bare minimum when i cut salvages- not willing to give up inches of good fabric...so most times it is just the salvage...which tends to be 1/2-3/8" since the fabric part outside the salvage will shrink differently than the actual salvage--- why we always cut them off in the first place i don't include a couple inches of regular woven fabric-only the tightly woven salvage
