Would you sew strips together,to make a longer strip by sewing as usual or at an angle? They'll be used in making quilt blocks & doubt either way would be noticeable.

Whichever would waste less fabric

I have done it both ways. The deciding factors are usually if I have enough fabric and how do I want the extra seam to lay in the block. If I am doing it for a border and I have enough fabric I do it on the diagonal.

I usually just sew end to end. Less waste that way.

I sew mine straight; others sew at an angle. Preference I think (smile).

For a border, I sew diaganol. In binding, sewing on the diaganol makes for less bulk when turning to sew on the other side.

Yep, diagonal.

I sew on the diagonal if i want it to be less noticeable. but if its a scrappy quilt for me ill sew end to end to save my fabric..

you say they will be used "in making quilt blocks" Does this mean that some sections of the block will have a seam through it. This statement is puzzling.
