Sew Steady

I've found several varieties of these table in Nancy's Notions by Sew Steady, but I'm not sure just how extensive a table that I need. I'd love to have people who have used the basic, deluxe, and wish table (with the built-in drawer) give their opinions about the style they chose. Additionally, I note that there is "an up-to 4 week" waiting period to get the table delivered, which seems to be a fairly long time. Has anyone recently ordered one and how long did it actually talk to arrive? Lastly, I tried to Google sewing cabinets for the Expression and found only limited information. The cabinets shown don't seem to address the need for a flat surface around the arm of the machine, that is what's left after you slide off the drawer section of the sewing machine, so the plastic extension table seems be the only real answer to the need for a flat surface. Thanks ahead of time for any information that you all can share.

I recently purchased the large Sew Steady table with the drawer for my Phaff Performance 5.0. It did take more than four weeks. I love the table, and I haven't done any free-motion quilting, since I got the table. I can't imagine doing free-motion without the table or some other type of tray that would give you an even space to do the quilting.

Thank all of you for the enthusiastic and helpful way that you responded. I watched the you-tube videos that Prism99 tagged for us, but I'm afraid that I hate the sound of cutting the plastic foam, although it was neat to see that there are cheaper solutions. I did notice that covering so much of the table with the foam seemed to give a lot of room for future quilting, so I think that I'll bite the bullet as Dolphyngyrl suggested and buy the larger size of Sew-Steady surface. Thank you again for all the input.

I ordered mine direct from Sew Steady too and I have loved it. They customize it to your make and model and it fixes great. I use it all the time.

I have the Sew Steady Table for my Pfaff, just need to give them the make and model. Mine sits on top of a desk, I hope to soon have them make me one that will fit and sit in a cabinet.

Here's the cabinet that my Pfaff QE 4.2 shares with my other machines. Its a Horn cabinet, 40"x60" when opened fully, each machine has its own plexi-glass insert that goes around the machine's free arm.
