Sewing table insert

I just found a used horn of America 5280 for my Bernina 770 (yay!) but now I need the acrylic insert. I did a search but so many places came up that did not appear reputable , so hoping you all may be able to recommend a place that you ordered from. Thanks!

Sew steady makes them, I ordered mine from All Brands and it was a perfect fit, worth the few weeks they take.

Doesn't Horn make inserts for their tables? I'd start there.

Sew Steady is a great brand. You can shop around and see who has the best price for what you need. SewingMachinesPlus.com has them on sale.

I believe I got mine from Sew Steady too... it fits perfectly in my table for my 770.

I got my last insert from Sew Steady for my Janome 9900. You have to sell the Horn cabinets to order an insert directly. However you could order one from a Horn dealer. But Sew Steady is a great company to deal with.

It looks likeSewVacDirect.com carries Horn cabinets- I bet they will have inserts.

If you find a Horn of American Dealer, they will be able to get you the correct insert. I had a Bernina 440QE for about 10 years. I just traded up to a Bernina 580. I have a Horn Quilter's Delight Table, which isn't made any longer. But they were able to get me the insert for it.

I traded my machines at the AQS Show in Lancaster, PA in March. I bought mine from Hinkletown Sewing. They are located in Ephrata, PA. They do ship though because I live about 4 hours from them and they shipped mine to me. And they are awesome to work with. They have good prices too!

Hope that helps!

I needed an insert and took measurements of opening and my machine to a paint and glass shop. They done a good job.

I bought my Horn nearly 20 years ago it's no longer offered on their site. It along with my 20 year old Viking Husqvarna #1 and #1+ machines are the best purchases I made! How do you say all around quality!

My husband made a template around my machine and then cut a thick piece of acrylic, (I'm sure he purchased a sheet from Home Depot) to fit around the machine. It's wonderful if you or someone you know who is handy it's an economical way to instantly have that flat surface. My Horn also had the big drop down table behind the sewing area that supports the quilts when trying to quilt, I also purchased side cabinets to store thread and misc items all so handy and well constructed. Also if you are someone who has multiple machines having custom cut inserts for a different machine would be nice too! Both of my machines have the same 'footprint' so the insert works for which ever machine I'm using.

I just looked at the model you purchased and my table must be the fore runner of yours. My lift isn't electric, my side drawer isn't a pull out extension, like the one demonstrated, that will be so handy for you! I cannot tell you how many times I pull the drawer out for extra support having it be an extension would be awesome! When I pull out my drawer everything in the drawer is exposed, no explanation needed here :0). My drop leaf behind the machine is larger and again that is such a wonderful addition! You will Love, Love this table. Horn customer service is wonderful.

To onaemtnest: if you haven’t found the pattern for the star quilt yet, it is Exploding Stars by Teajuana Mahone. I have mine at the quilters now. Started 6 years ago at a retreat, she gave classes on this pattern
