I am sewing together 8" squares to make a quilt. I started my first row today. Some of the squares are not even. Can anyone please let me know how, or should I try to fix that? Will it make a big difference when I start sewing the rows together?.

Thanks, Cassie

All of the squares have to be the same size, so if they are not, then you will need to cut them to 7 and three quarters of an inch or even 7 and a half inches.... cut them to the size of your biggest square....

If you don't want to cut them you can always add a border to them. Just make the border so that each square is the same size. Even a little 1/8 of an inch will make a big difference when you piece it together.

You need to fix that now because each difference, no matter how small, will make a big difference later and you will not be satisfied. Take the blocks apart and square them up so they are all the same, even if you have to cut them down. Either throw out the smallest block or make them all that size. You will be much happier with the final results. :D
